Art Advisory

Under the Mallett banner, we are proud to provide advice around building, refining or editing your collection of furniture and works of art. Collection Management

We are delighted to be able to offer a comprehensive collection management service for clients, comprising expert advice on the physical environment, database management, loans, insurance, transport, framing, restoration, conservation and staff training.  A new addition to the collection management service is a full collection care offer, with the aim of preserving the long-term condition of objects in your collection. Mallett works with its parent company Gurr Johns to provide appraisals of tangible personal property. From the valuation of a single object to the comprehensive management of art collections the world over, Gurr Johns specialists value over $10 billion in assets annually.

Our global network of 160 specialists offers expertise across all asset categories. In the United States all our experts are compliant with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).Our fully illustrated appraisal reports are a valuable resource for clients and their advisors. A Gurr Johns report includes cataloguing details, notes on provenance and condition, current location and the appropriate value for each item listed. Care and Restoration

Mallett has a long history of association with Hatfields Restoration (also within the Gurr Johns group). Hatfields have been at the forefront of traditional restoration since their foundation in 1865 and have worked for prestigious clients including Queen Victoria, Eton College and the Palace of Westminster, as well as installing luxurious interiors for private clients, making bespoke pieces and copies - including the famous and much-loved Chinese-inspired Mallett designed low coffee tables with exotic tops and two-tier wheeled small occasional tables with castors.  Hatfields will be pleased to work with you to assist with installation, repair and maintenance of your works of art collection.
